Circular dental structure fixed on 8 implants

dental implantation in Hungary

The highest level of implantation solutions in the complete absence of teeth

There are several options for rehabilitation in the complete absence of teeth, from a removable prosthesis to a non—removable circular bridge mounted on implants. The quantity and quality of existing bone tissue, the patient's health status, and financial aspects can also influence the preparation of a treatment plan. Thanks to the continuous development of dental implantology, our patients can choose from an increasing number of alternatives.

Those who want to install implants should not delay implantation, as bone resorption occurs over time in place of missing teeth. If there is not enough bone tissue for implantation, then bone grafting will be required, otherwise it will be impossible to produce a fixed prosthesis.

For those who are missing all their teeth, the most stable and closest solution to natural teeth is a fully fixed circular bridge mounted on 8 implants.

Why do I need 8 implants?

When fixing a circular bridge on 8 implants, it is possible to fix a bridge consisting of 12-14 teeth, which provides the most natural and stable feeling. Whereas in the case of the All-on-4 solution, when only 4 implants are used, only 10 teeth can be installed. This method is used when there is not enough bone tissue in the area of the back teeth to install implants and it cannot be restored.

The fixation of the circular bridge on 6 implants is also a fully acceptable and common solution. However, it is worth noting that the posterior implants have a much greater load, since the molars account for the main chewing pressure. If you use only 6 implants, the front teeth will be supported by four implants, while the back teeth will be supported by only two. Therefore, the installation of 8 implants provides a more comfortable and stable solution for a long time, especially for the upper jaw.

The number of implants that will be installed depends on the size and shape of the dentition, the quality of the bone, and the type of prosthesis on the opposite jaw.

How does dental implantation work?

Since the goal is to create a natural-looking and functioning tooth or dentition, it is first necessary to plan the position of the implants to be installed.

1. The first step: Consultation and planning

During a personal consultation, you will get to know your doctor, who will make an individual, accurate treatment plan for you. Based on the X-ray, the examination, and your wishes, the doctor will draw up a detailed, personalized treatment plan. For careful implantation planning, 3D CBCT (cone beam computed tomography) must be performed and analyzed in each case.

The treatment plan includes the stages of prosthetics, detailed costs, recovery time intervals between necessary visits, as well as recommendations on the choice of an implant and its location.

2. The second step: The installation of implants

The placement of implants in the jaw is painless; the procedure can be performed under local anesthesia or, if necessary, under anesthesia. After surgery, the patient must follow the recommendations and instructions of the doctor in order to wait for the end of the healing period necessary for osseointegration (implant engraftment) and restoration of bone tissue.

If there is not enough bone tissue to install a dental implant, a bone grafting procedure is performed to replace the missing bone. This can be done simultaneously with the implantation, but if significant bone repair is required, a separate surgical operation is performed first.

3. The third step: Making a permanent denture

During the 3-6-month healing period after implantation, the implant fuses with the jawbone. At this time, it is also important to maintain perfect oral hygiene, strictly following the doctor's recommendations.

After the end of the healing period, a permanent denture is installed on the implants, which can be made of metal ceramics, zirconium ceramics or monolithic zirconium.

During a personal consultation, a treatment plan will be drawn up that will determine the best solution for you. If possible, our specialist will suggest several alternatives depending on your personal needs and preferences.

Do you know?

Regular dental checkups are even more important during dental implantation than during other dental procedures!

Ignoring regular dental checkups is associated with a high risk that any gum infections, periosteum, or bone loss around the implant may be detected too late.

That is why we strongly recommend that you have a dental check-up at least once a year.
