The official currency of Hungary is the Hungarian Forint (HUF). Many shops and other places also accept euros*. However, the exchange rates in such places often do not correspond to current banking rates, and this is not in favor of customers. Credit cards (all Visa, Mastercard Credit and Debit cards) are accepted everywhere in Budapest, in most restaurants, bars and shops, as well as in our dental clinic. Although in small establishments you can only pay in cash, so it's good to have some local currency with you.

Using any type of transport, you can quickly and conveniently reach your destination in the city. Budapest Transportation Center (Budapest Közlekési Központ, BKK) is responsible for basic transportation services in Budapest (including buses, trams, metro, commuter transportation and trolleybuses) in an integrated system.
If you want to use public transport, always remember that you need to have a valid ticket or subscription with you. Tickets can be purchased throughout the city at metro stations, tram stops or at street kiosks. You can use the same type of ticket for all types of public transport, but you will need to purchase a new ticket for each trip. In addition, one-time tickets can be purchased from the bus driver for an additional fee.
